FVE launches 4th VetSurvey — calling on veterinarians and veterinary nurses

The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) has officially launched its 4th VetSurvey

The FVE is inviting professionals across Europe to share their experiences and views on the state of the veterinary profession.

The survey explores key topics such as working conditions, wellbeing, career development and future challenges. For the first time, The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe is placing a strong emphasis on hearing not only from veterinarians, but also from veterinary nurses, recognising their essential role in veterinary teams and the profession as a whole.

A Unified Voice for European Animal Health

By spearheading this initiative, the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe aims to create a comprehensive map of the professional landscape that transcends borders. This survey isn’t just a data collection exercise; it is a powerful tool for advocacy. When practitioners from every corner of the continent contribute, they provide the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe with the empirical evidence needed to lobby for better resources, fairer regulations, and stronger support systems at the EU level. It’s about turning individual clinic experiences into a collective roar for systemic change.

The decision by the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe to explicitly include veterinary nurses and technicians in this edition marks a pivotal shift toward a “One Team” philosophy. Previous VetSurvey Editions

Building on the success of previous editions in 2015, 2018 and 2023, the VetSurvey has become a vital evidence base at both European and national level. The results help countries compare their situation with others and support FVE and its members in setting priorities for a more resilient, future-proof profession.

The survey takes 10–15 minutes to complete and is available in multiple languages. To ensure robust and meaningful results, The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe encourages wide participation and sharing across practices, clinics and professional networks.
