ACOVENE Seeks Accreditation Panel Members and Announces Training Days

Advance Your Career with ACOVENE Accreditation Panel Training

As a leader in European standards, ACOVENE is inviting veterinary experts to join their accreditation panel and attend free online training days.

The Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education (ACOVENE) is a voluntary, European-wide organisation founded in 2007 that accredits veterinary nurse programmes.

As an independent international body, ACOVENE promotes accreditation to enhance the standard and breadth of veterinary nurse education, facilitating professional mobility across countries.
ACOVENE provides support to accredited and prospective schools, advancing the role of veterinary nurses and ensuring high standards in animal health and welfare.

Join the ACOVENE Accreditation Panel

ACOVENE is looking to expand its pool of accreditation visitors and welcomes applications from veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons. Ideal candidates should have at least five years of experience in veterinary nurse education and/or training.

If you currently work at an ACOVENE-accredited institution, participating in accreditation visits offers valuable experience that can help maintain your own school’s accreditation.

Why Accreditation Matters

Accreditation is an independent verification that an institution and its programmes meet established quality standards. It ensures that programmes are:

  • Well-governed
  • Run sustainably, safely, and effectively
  • Appropriately resourced
  • Delivering a relevant and contemporary curriculum
  • Providing robust student support
  • Operating fair, valid, and reliable assessment systems
  • Implementing strong quality assurance and enhancement mechanisms

Accreditation assures that veterinary nursing programmes meet the profession’s needs, reinforcing credibility within the veterinary sector and the public. A standardised quality approach aids workforce mobility—an important factor in addressing current veterinary workforce shortages.

Free Online Accreditation Training Days

To support accreditation panel members, ACOVENE offers online accreditation training.

  • Stay tuned for our 2026 training schedule—contact us to be the first to know when registration opens.

Existing ACOVENE panel members and those interested in joining are invited to attend.

Training is free of charge and may count towards CPD requirements.

All panel members must complete training before undertaking accreditation visits.

We look forward to hearing from you!
